Mrs. Louise (Marquis) Burbank, 101, formerly of 1 Woodland Park, Gorham, NH passed away on Saturday evening July 3, 2010 at the Country Village Genesis Eldercare Center in Lancaster, NH. She was born in Berlin, NH on November 6, 1908 the daughter of David and Harriet (Arnesen) Marquis and was a lifelong resident of the Berlin- Gorham area. She was a graduate of Berlin High School with the class of 1927 and a graduate of Keene Normal School in 1930. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a school teacher in Berlin and Gorham. She attended the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC, was an active member in the Gorham Womans Club, a member of the Gorham Retired Teachers and the National Education Association. Members of the family include one son Lincoln Burbank of Ormond Beach, FL; four grandchildren Brett Burbank, Alan Burbank, Barbara Aubert and Devon Burbank Jr.; five great grandchildren ; a brother James Marquis of Berlin; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband H.P. Link Burbank, a son Devon Burbank, three brothers Donald Marquis, David Marquis and Russell Marquis and by four sisters Doris Crehan, Vera Patterson, Constance Conrad and Marion Vital. SERVICES: A Graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 7, 2010 at 11 AM at the Lary Cemetery in Gorham, NH. There will be no calling hours. Anyone who wishes may make a donation to the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC in her memory. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Home, Gorham, NH.
