Louise Dupuis

October 19, 1949 — September 30, 2014

Berlin, NH

Louise Mary (Villeneuve) Dupuis died peacefully at Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin, NH on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the age of 64 after a long battle of multiple health issues including Diabetes, Kidney Cancer, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Louise was born on October 19, 1949 in Berlin, NH to Norman J. Villeneuve and Cecile M. (Bourbeau) Villeneuve, she was their only child. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1968 and went into the Army, married Lawrence C. Butkiewicz and had two children; lived in Germany, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Connecticut. She and her children returned to Berlin in 1980 after her divorce where Louise had been a resident ever since. In 1986, she married Maurice P. Dupuis; he was the love of her life.

Louise is survived by her mother, Cecile M. Villeneuve, also a resident of Coos County Nursing Home; her daughter Michelle (Butkiewicz) Pimentel of Berlin, NH; her only grandchild, Brianna Butkiewicz (Michelle's daughter) of Andover, NH; her son, Sean Butkiewicz of Berlin, NH; cousins Elaine Borowski and her husband Frank of Gorham, NH; Maurice Tellier of Gorham, NH, Rejeanne and her husband Norris "Web" Ridgeway of South Carolina; Louis Chouinard of Littleton, NH, Linda Belanger and her husband of Berlin as well as many other cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her Father, Norman J. Villeneuve on December 16, 1997 and her husband Maurice P. Dupuis on September 1, 2007.

Louise was an amazing cook and baker. She had a cake decorating business from the early 80's to the late 90's making thousands of cakes for everything from baptisms to weddings. If you were lucky enough to receive a cake made by Louise, then you were blessed. Louise was approached in 1985 by the then NH Community Technical College to teach a cake decorating class though she had never had any formal training herself. Louise also enjoyed doing silk floral arrangements and even made several for the Chamber of Commerce TV Auctions in the early 2000's.

While living in Germany in the 70's, Louise was employed at the then largest commissary in Germany as the head of Stock Control and Accounting. Louise worked as the Office Manager at J.J. Nissen at their Glen Avenue location where she greeted all of her customers like old friends; she also worked in the Credit Department at Top Furniture until an injury in February of 1989 forced her to retire. Louise was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary for many years and also played in many cribbage tournaments at the VFW.

Louise's home was always open to her family and friends throughout the year and especially at the holidays. She loved Christmas and for many years before she got really sick, would hold a Holiday Open House for family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. She knew how to throw a party and how to feed people. If you knew Louise you knew that she was an angel here on earth and is now in Heaven watching over all of us and raining her love down on us. Louise leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity.
