Lorraine M. (Stephenson) Roy, 81, of Fourth Avenue, Berlin, NH passed away on Tuesday June 22, 2010 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. She was born in Berlin, NH on Oct. 28, 1928 the daughter Edward and Mary (McLain) Stephenson and attended schools in Gorham, NH. Lorraine worked at the Converse Rubber Company in Berlin and also had worked at Reims Fields Day Care Center in Imperial Beach, CA when her husband was stationed there while in the US Navy. She and her husband Donald camped at the Israel River Campground in Jefferson, NH for 27 years and loved to sit around the camp fire telling stories. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and doing many crafts and moose watching. Her family includes two sons Gerald D. Roy and his wife Vivian of Whitefield, NH and Donald G. Roy and his wife Betty-Jo of Manchester, NH; a daughter in law Dianne Roy of Berlin, NH; four grandchildren Charlene Briggs and husband Rick of Gorham, NH, Erika Bailey and her husband Brian of Berlin, Marcel Roy and friend Trish of Berlin and Brandon Roy and wife Tiffany of Manchester, NH; four great grandchildren and one step great grandson; three sisters Vivian Boisselle of Moultonboro, NH, Rita Lemieux and husband Paul of Milan, NH and Cynthia Mortenson and husband Robert of West Milan, NH; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Donald Roy Sr., her parents, a brother Leslie Stephenson, sisters Kathleen Dolak and Virginia Tardif. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 26, 2010 at 10 AM in the Chapel of the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in West Milan. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9 to 10 AM, prior to the service. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in her memory to the Lupus Foundation.
