Lorraine Lemieux Amero

September 28, 1933 — March 23, 2020

Lorraine Amero of Berlin was called to her Heavenly Home with her daughters by her side on March 23, 2020 and reunited with her loving husband Bill.

She was born in Berlin, NH on September 28, 1933, the daughter of Arthur and Laura (Morin) Lemieux. She married her husband William (Bill) Amero on June 13, 1955 and together raised their 3 children. Lorraine was born on the East side of Berlin and would later purchase a home in the Norwegian Village where she lived for over 50 years.

She and her husband owned and operated “Amero’s Upholstery Shop” converting their garage into their upholstery business, where they both spent many hours working together on furniture for residents and businesses in the community. They enjoyed this past time and would run it for over 30 years.

Lorraine loved her camp at Nay Pond which she and Bill owned since 1958. She and her family spent every summer at camp, fishing, gardening, and enjoying the company of many relatives who would pop in during the hot summer months to visit and take a swim. She loved entertaining at holiday meals and was well known for her delicious cooking and baking talents, especially her meat pies and her Signature Brown Sugar Fudge. She wintered in Florida for several years enjoying the sunny weather and company of her two brothers Armand and Eddie.

Her love of animals was always evident, as she spent her life giving generously to many animal charities and sanctuaries. She loved to knit and sew and patiently made many home-made socks for all of her family members at Christmas. In her retirement years, she and Bill loved to travel and take Sunday drives reminiscing and visiting loved ones. Her Catholic Faith was very important to her; a member of Good Shephard Parish, she attended Mass faithfully before her illness. Most of all Lorraine loved her family, her 3 children, their spouses, her 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, always anxious for the next gathering and planning a spectacular meal for all. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her 3 children: Nancy Bouchard and husband Dennis of Ossipee and Florida, Michael Amero and wife Diane of Franklin, NH, Sandy Villeneuve and husband Tim of Berlin, NH. 9 grandchildren: Matthew Dupuis and wife Elisha, Mark Dupuis, Timmy Dupuis and wife Sarah, Katie Legare and husband Pete, Whitney Cacserus and husband Renee, David Amero, Brandon Villeneuve, Cody Villeneuve and fiancée Marissa McKnight, Melanie Labranch and husband Joe. 10 great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Charlotte, Harper, Jameson, Elena Lorraine, Everett William, Braylee, Dominic, Jace, and Teaghan. Her brother-in-law Raymond Amero and sisters-in-law Dot Jensen of Berlin, Betty Lemieux and Pauline Lemieux. Many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents as well as her husband William “Bill” Amero who passed in 2014, and all of her 7 siblings. Brothers: Armand Lemieux, Eddie Lemieux, Richard Lemieux and Tom Lemieux. Sisters: Priscilla Bouchard, Jeannette Legare .and Pauline Roller. Brothers-in-law: Richard Legare, Rene “Butch” Bouchard, Donald Amero, and Richard “Dickie” Amero. Sisters-in-law: Hazel Lemieux, Jeanette Lemieux, Shirley Aikens, Pauline Washburn, Shirley Amero, and Annette Amero.

The family would also like to thank North Country Angels for providing wonderful care to her to help make it possible for her to stay at home.
