Mrs. Lois M. Fournier, 86, of 164 Madigan St., Berlin, NH passed away on Wednesday June 8, 2011 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. She was born in Whiting, ME on April 5, 1925 the daughter of Leon and Bernice (Ackley) Pierce and graduated from school in Bar Harbor, ME. She met her husband, Wilfrid, during World War II. They married on August 5, 1944 and moved to Berlin after the war, where she has since resided. She had been employed by her husbands business a bookkeeper. Lois was a former member of St. Joseph Church, now Good Shepherd Parish, and was involved in parish organizations in her earlier years. Members of the family include her five children Wilfrid Fournier, Jr. and wife Norma of Berlin, NH, Robert Fournier of Berlin, NH, Donald Fournier and wife Simone of Manchester, NH, Maurice Fournier and wife Jocelyn of Hermon, ME and Karen Supry and husband Brad of Berlin, NH; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother David Pierce and wife Connie of Lamoine, ME; many nieces, nephews and a very close circle of friends. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfrid Fournier, a brother Jim Pierce, a sister Virginia Pierce and a grandson Corey Fournier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday June 13, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Arthritis Foundation, 6 Chenell Dr., Suite 260, Concord, NH, 03301 or to the Eternal Word Television Network, 5817 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, AZ, 352510. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
