Mr. Lloyd E. Nimmy Honnon, 90, of 20 Main Street, Gorham, NH passed away on Wednesday September 2, 2009 at the St. Vincent de Paul Healthcare Center in Berlin. He was born in Gorham, NH on January 10, 1919 the son of Joseph P. and Ella (Benson) Honnon and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Gorham High School and was a US Army Veteran of World War II, where he served in the Pacific and received the Bronze Star. He was employed by the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion for over 30 years and was very active in the Post. He was also a member of the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW in Berlin. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and snowmobiler and took many trips with his camper over the years. Members of the family include his wife Dorothy E. (Chambers) Honnon of Gorham, NH; a daughter Barbara Costa and husband William of Ellington, CT; a son Daniel Honnon of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; a sister Dorothy Regan of CT and a sister-in-law Madeline Berry of Gorham, NH. A Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be held on Saturday Sept. 12, 09 at 10 AM in the Lary Cemetery in Gorham, NH. There will be no calling hours. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of ones choice. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Home, Gorham, NH.
