LEONA DESCHENES, 76

Leona Valeda Deschenes, 76, of Shelburne, NH, passed away on September 3, 2015 at her home. Leona was born May 20, 1939, in Berlin, the daughter of Leon and Alma (Fortier) Deschenes.

Leona attended Notre Dame High School. While raising five children, she took classes through Community College of Vermont and Plymouth State College earning a degree in Art with a focus in Interior Design. She was a talented artist who enjoyed oil painting and sculpting. She volunteered for many years teaching painting at the Holiday Center in Berlin. She later worked at Coos County Nursing Home as a CNA and in the activities department and at Berlin City Auto Group delivering vehicles.

She had a very generous heart. Her life was that of continuous sacrifice for her family. First in prayer with the Lord, then outwardly to her loved ones. She was a rock, steadfast in the love of God beyond all understanding. She has forever changed our lives as she leaves her beautiful legacy behind.

Leona is survived by her sons, Rodney Patrick and wife Sandy of Berlin, Randall Patrick and wife Christine of Norman, OK, Ronald Patrick and wife Ann of Shelburne; daughter, Sherry (Patrick) Silver and husband Robert of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Stephanie Patrick of Bethlehem, Heather Flum of Littleton, Katelyn and Jonathan Patrick of Berlin, Ryan, Reno, and Hanna Patrick of Austin, TX, Michael Corriveau of Gilead, ME, Lauren, Rachel, Anna, and Benjamin Silver of Concord, NC; brother, Richard Deschenes and wife Terri of The Villages, FL; and sisters-in-law, Pauline Deschenes of Berlin, Andrea Deschenes of Exeter, NH, and Sister Helen de Notre Dame of Manchester.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Gina Corriveau; siblings, Norman Deschenes, Irene (Deschenes) Roy, and Roland "Junior" Deschenes; and husbands, Rene Patrick and Gerald Ferguson.

A memorial service will be held at the Riverside Assembly of God, Berlin-Gorham Road, 450 Main Street, Gorham, NH on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 10:00am. Pastor Paul Lavigne will serve as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Anne Cemetery.
