Leo P. Parent, a longtime resident of Berlin passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 following a period of declining health. He was 94.

Born on September 27, 1922 in Berlin, NH, he was the son of Joseph and Adele (Bisson) Parent.

Leo attended Berlin Schools. He was active in the church and was a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish.

During World War II, he served in the US Army. He was a member of the Berlin American Legion and the VFW Post # 2520. In 2014 he received an award for serving in WWII at a ceremony at American Legion Hall in Gorham honoring the surviving members of WWII.

Prior to his retirement from Brown Company, in 1985 he spent many years as a logger in the woods.

Leo loved spending time with his family, he absolutely loved riding his scooter. He also enjoyed gardening, he was an all around "Mr Fix It" and he was very active with the VFW.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son Roland; brothers Alcide, Ralph and Roland; a sister Simmone and a son-in-law Richard Gerow;

He leaves his wife of 70 years Yvette of Berlin; a son Paul Parent and wife Rita of Moultonboro, NH; a daughter Lorraine Gerow of Phillipston, MA; four grandchildren, Sarah Parent and her companion Kurt Snow, Eric Parent, Brittney Gerow and her companion Josh Ammesmaki and Michael Parent and wife Rachel; four great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Alyssa, Breck, and Dean; two brothers Maurice Parent and wife Florence of Gorham, NH and Robert Parent of Enosburg, VT; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 30th at St Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Berlin.

Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 8:45am to 9:45am at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH 03570.
