Mr. Leo H Montminy, age 89, of St. Vincent de Paul Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016.
He was born in Berlin, NH on January 25, 1927. The son of Henry J. and Marie (Olivier) Montminy, he attended Guardian Angel School, was an Eagle Scout, and a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1946.
Leo worked for the Blais and Aubin Wholesale for 10 years. He also tended bar at the Joliette Snowshoe Club and the Chalet for 10 years. He was later employed with the N.H. State Liquor Commission for 24 years at the Berlin store. He was a member of the Berlin Planning Board for 13 years. Upon his retirement in January 1989, he moved to the Brae Burn Trailer Park in Gorham, N.H.
Leo is survived by his wife, Helen M.B. Montminy of Berlin N.H., a daughter, Cecile Greenawalt and husband Dan of Melbourne, FL., a son, Henry Montminy of Berlin, N.H., and a daughter Lucille Montminy of Concord, N.C. Leo had 2 granddaughters, Karen Daniels and husband Robert of Melbourne, Fl., and Jenna Montminy of Concord, NC, and one grandson, David Perkey and wife Candice of Vicksburg, MS., along with 2 great granddaughters, Regan and Laken Daniels of Melbourne, FL.
Leo was predeceased by his parents and first wife, Doris (Dutil) Montminy, and two brothers, Edward and Robert Montminy.
Friends and family may call from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, June 1st and prior to the service on Thursday, June 2nd from 8:30am to 9:30am at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am, Thursday June 2nd at Holy Family Church in Gorham, N.H. with interment at St. Anne Cemetery, Berlin, N.H.
