Leo E. Patry

Berlin, NH

Leo E. Patry of School Street passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital following a brief illness. He was 90 years old.

Born in Berlin on December 29, 1926 he was the son of Amedee and Annie (Duhamel) Patry.

Leo was a WWII Veteran having served on the USS AMCU6, a mine detector in the Atlantic Theater.

He was a 1947 graduate of Berlin High School and graduated from Burdett College in Boston, MA in 1951 and was hired by Brown Company in the woods department. In 1952 he started his financial career by helping to manage a 350 men woods camp in Kennebago Maine. He held many supervisory positions before retiring in 1989 as Manager of Accounting and Budget Director at James River Corporation.

He enjoyed all outdoor sports excelling in horseshoes and softball. He loved hunting, fly fishing especially in Kennebago and Parmachenee Maine for trout and salmon. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp at Bay View Area in Dummer, NH.

Besides his parents he is predeceased by two sisters Jeannette Patry and Rita Chaisson and a brother Gilbert Patry.

He leaves behind his loving wife, of 62 years, Ann (Dion) Patry of Berlin, two daughters Lee Ann Patry of Berlin and Carrie Patry Ptolemy of Jensen Beach, FL; two granddaughters Abigail and Isabella Ptolemy of FL; a sister Lucille Rivard and husband Roger of Berlin; brothers, Roland Patry and wife Juliette of Berlin, Raymond Patry and wife Caroline of Gorham, and Gil Patry and wife Mary of New Durham; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 1:00pm at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Prior to Mass there will be calling hours in the church from 11:00am til 12:45pm. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
