- Leo Albert Roy, 85, passed away Friday May 16, 2014 after a period of declining health. He had resided at Presidential Oakes in Concord for the past 14 months. Mr. Roy was born in Berlin on June 17, 1928, the son of the late Albert and Bertha Roy. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School class of 1946 and served in the US Army during the Occupation of Japan. He married the love of his life on February 20, 1950. He held various jobs in Berlin and retired as Postmaster in Colebrook in 1988. After retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife Rita to England, France and to Alaska for their 50th anniversary. He also enjoyed visiting family and had a passion of playing racquetball. He is survived by his four children, Raymond and wife Lynne of Milford, NH, Louise and husband Ron of Sterling Heights, MI, Richard and wife Mary of Concord, NH and David and wife Rushaniya of Houston, TX, 4 grandchildren Matthew Roy of Concord, Emily Roy of Concord, Eric Scholtes and wife Christine of Clinton Township, MI and Leo Roy of Houston, TX, 1 great grandchild Ethan Scholtes of Clinton Township, MI, 3 sisters Pauline Rancourt of Lady Lake, FL, Lorraine Croteau of Berlin and Irene Bourassa of Berlin, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Rita (Mailhot) Roy in March 2007 and 2 brothers Robert Roy and Paul Roy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin on Tuesday May 20, at 10 AM. Interment will be in St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Monday from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to a charity of ones choice.
