Mr. Lawrence Gauthier, 75, of 577 Lincoln Ave., Berlin, NH passed away on Tuesday December 2, 2008 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He was born in Berlin, NH on May 2, 1933 the son of Omer and Alice (Dubois) Gauthier and was a lifelong resident of the area. He attended Notre Dame High School. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and was discharged as a Staff Sgt. He was employed by Brown Company and James River Corp. and retired from Crown Vantage in 1998. His last employment was with Apollo Garage. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree, the White Mountain Post #2520 VFW and volunteered at AVH. He was very active in his church, loved spending time with his grandsons, his family and spending time with his special and dear friend, Phyllis Morrissette. Members of the family include his daughters Roxanne Roy and husband Michael of Berlin, NH, Rachel Horan and husband Charles of Berlin, NH and Laurelle Cote and husband Carl of Berlin, NH; 6 grandsons Joseph Roy, Nathan Roy, Brian Horan, Kris Horan, Kyle Newton and Tanner Cote; 2 step-grandchildren; 3 brothers Andre Gauthier, Gerald Gauthier and Victor Gauthier; 4 sisters Marguerite Burns, Jacqueline Chapman, Alice Shields and Evelina Gauthier; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Doris (Mercier) Gauthier in 2006, 3 brothers Leonard Gauthier, Fernand Gauthier and Daniel Gauthier and 3 sisters Rose Cote, Dorothy Belanger and Jeannette Treamer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday December 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Sunday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Good Shepherd Parish, PO Box 570, Berlin, NH, 03570.
