Laurier J Riendeau

July 22, 1926 — October 2, 2015

Berlin, NH Laurier Joseph Riendeau passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital surrounded by family. He was 89.

Born in Berlin, NH in 1926 he was the son of Louis and Flora (Hebert) Riendeau. He grew up in Berlin and attended the local schools.

He served in the Army National Guard for three years. He was a member of the Eagles, Knights of Columbus, Millsfield Club and the Androscoggin Valley Fish and Game.

On July 26, 1947 he married Rita Gagne and together they raised eight children. They enjoyed going camping and dancing. Laurier also enjoyed fishing and hunting. His greatest joy was playing the fiddle. He was an avid player and competed in many contest over the years. He had the privilege of representing New Hampshire while playing in Washington DC at the Smithsonian. He often donated his time playing for the residents at the Nursing Homes.

Besides his parents he was also predeceased by his brother George 'Pat' Riendeau.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 68 years Rita Riendeau of Berlin; Five sons, Raymond Riendeau of Orlando, FL, Paul Riendeau and wife Nancy of Hampton, NH, Lionel 'Ti' Riendeau and wife Bonnie of Gorham, NH, Donald Riendeau and wife Nancy of Gorham, NH, Ricky Riendeau of Berlin, NH; Three daughters, Louise Riendeau of Sebstian, FL, Janine Provencher of Berlin, NH, Tina Host and husband Al of Gorham, NH; 18 grandchildren Christian Riendeau, Daniel Riendeau, John Riendeau, Renee Baum, Danielle Bouthiette, Steven Riendeau, Corey Riendeau, John Provencher, James Provencher, Shawna Kozacka, Joey Riendeau, Ryan Riendeau, Thomas Cote, Brian Cote, Beth Host, Emily Host, Zachary Host and Justin Host; several great and great-great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his Brother Henry Riendeau and wife Lise of Berlin, NH; sisters Dolores Riendeau of Berlin, NH and Pauline Costa and her companion Ernest Vienneau of Berlin, NH. Several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relativities may call on the family on Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm and prior to the service on Monday from 8:30am to 9:30am at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH 03570.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, Berlin, NH. Interment will follow at the Holy Family Cemetery in Gorham, NH.
