Laurence Steeves

Laurence M. "Larry" Steeves, II, of Third Avenue passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 03, 2013 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was 76.

Born on December 8, 1935 in Boston, Mass, he was the son of Laurence M. and Inez L. (Tidd) Steeves.

Larry grew up in Boston and Haverhill, Massachusetts and served in the US Army from 1952-1956.

On June 3, 1956, he married Laurie Faith Young. Together they made their home in Manchester, NH and they raised 6 children.

In earlier years, he worked in the shoe manufacturing mills and the Cotton Mills in Manchester. He then worked as a machinist and OK Tool Company and retired from International Paper Box Machine Company in Nashua, NH.

In 1998, he and his wife moved to Berlin, NH to be closer to the mountains that he loved.

His past times included talking on the CB, woodworking especially Cabinets & Bookcases, Bowling, Camping, and Golf. He will be remembered as a gentle loving man who had no problem making friends and enjoyed talking with people.

Besides his parents, he is preceded by a daughter Elissa Steeves, a brother Norman Steeves, and a sister Phyllis Young.

He leaves his loving wife of 56 Years: Laurie Faith Steeves of Berlin, NH; 3 sons: Lorren Steeves and his wife Cindy of Allenstown, NH, Terry Steeves of Palacka, FL, and Laurence Steeves, III and his wife Dawn of Berlin, NH 2 daughters: Sherry Steeves of Berlin, NH and Tandra Eames and her husband Larson of Interlachen, FL; 8 grandchildren: Valerie Duvall, Kristin Armstrong, Jennifer Reil, Keri Steeves-Danforth, Elissa Kocher, Evan Steeves, Jonathan Steeves, and Andrew Steeves; 3 Great-Grandchildren: Nicholas Duvall, Kadyn Reil, and Adyson Reil. A niece Julie Sodergrin of Holbrook, Mass, and a nephew Mark Sodergrin of Whitefield, NH.

Calling hours will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm Friday, April 5, 2013.
