Julia Allain

Berlin, NH

Julia M. Allain, a longtime resident of Western Avenue and 3rd, Avenue passed away, in the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital. She was 90 years of age. For the past two years, she had resided at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home in Berlin.

Julia was born in Berlin, NH, on January 18, 1922 a daughter of the late Andrew and Sophia (Doucette) Poirier. She attended school Berlin Schools.

On January 31, 1942 she married Henry Allain and together they raised a son. She was a communicant of the St. Joseph Church in Berlin now known as St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. She was a member of The Ladies of St. Anne.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her greatest love was her family and spending time with them. She was a very loving, caring and devoted, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her hobbies included playing cards, knitting, and putting puzzles together.

In retirement, she and her husband Henry spent the winters in Davenport, Florida and spent the summers at camp in Errol. While in Errol, they attended St. Pius X Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, a grandson Chris Allain, a sister Margaret Peloquin and a brother Marcel Poirier She is survived by a son Maurice Allain and his wife Jeanne of Berlin, NH; grandchildren Keith Allain and his wife Shannon of Laconia, Kevin Allain of Berlin and Michelle Allain of Manchester, NH; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother Edmond Poirier of Sun City, Fl. Several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Friday, June 8 at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin. Rev Kyle Stanton will officiate. Burial will be at the St. Pius Cemetery at Errol, NH at a later date.

Calling hours will be held from 7:00-9:00 pm Thursday, June 7 and from 9:30-10:30 am Friday, June 8 ( prior to the Mass) at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH and from
