Josephine B (Buteau) Pelchat

September 3, 1916 — March 28, 2017

Josephine B. Pelchat (Buteau) passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital following a brief illness. She just recently celebrated her 100th birthday last fall among family and friends at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on September 3, 1916, in Somerset, VT, she was the daughter of Gaudias (Joe) and Roseanna (Larocque) Buteau.

On October 25, 1937, she married Theodore (Ted) Pelchat and together they raised four children.

Josephine was a woman of great faith, and was a member of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin, NH. Her greatest love was her family. Family always came first. She was a role model and a source of strength for all her children and grand-children. Each family member has cherished stories of time spent with her. She was a wonderful baker, an unbelievable housekeeper, an avid Bingo player, a determined card player and loved to travel. She had a green thumb, grew amazing African violets, and enjoyed the mountains of New Hampshire.

Besides her parents she is predeceased by her husband, Theodore (Ted) Pelchat.

She leaves behind her children Ronald Pelchat, Sr. (spouse Yvonne), Paul Pelchat (spouse Irene), Herv Pelchat (spouse Diana) and Gloria Leveillee (spouse Roger); grandchildren, Susan Pelchat-Wenger (spouse Timothy), Ronald Pelchat, Jr. (spouse Normand Beaudoin), Michelle Lessner (spouse Laif), James Pelchat (spouse Maryse), Kelly Niblett (spouse Mark), Kristin Flake (spouse Tim), Edward (Teddy) Pelchat (spouse Jaime), Nicole Leveillee, Paula Myers, Thomas Leveillee, and Michael Leveillee (spouse Susan), and Nicole Plourde (spouse Richard); several great-grandchildren, as well as good friend, and "adopted" daughter, Theresa Smith. She also leaves behind one brother, Roland Buteau, of Lancaster, NH, and one sister, Victoria Beaton (spouse Bob), also of Lancaster, NH.
