John L. Finson

Mr. John L. Finson, 92, passed away Wednesday January 7, 2009 at the Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown, NH. He was born in Berlin, NH on September 12, 1916 the son of Fritjof and Hana (Eriksen) Finson and lived most of his life in the Berlin and Milan area. He had been employed by the City of Berlin Fire Department and retired as Assistant Chief. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, was a Forest Fire Warden and enjoyed hunting fishing, carpentry and woodworking. Members of the family include his son Maurice Finson and his girlfriend Jean Bumford of Milan, NH and 5 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Ethel A. (Shepherd) Finson and a son Walter Finson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 10, 2009 at 9 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Spring Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Milan.
