John J Cooper

John James Cooper passed away on May 22, 2012.

He was born in Berlin, NH on December 21, 1921, the youngest of three children.

He is predeceased by his parents Martha Devlin Cooper and Phillip Cooper, sister Virginia, brother Roger, wife Doris Landry Cooper, and wife Doris Martin Cooper all from Berlin NH.

During the great depression he served in the 1146th Civilian Conservation Company clearing land for roadbuilding in Atlanta in 1939.

Served during WW2 in the pacific theater with the U. S. Army in Battery A 743rd antiaircraft artillery battalion from from March 1942 to January 1946.

Worked as a millwright for the Brown Company Paper mill in Berlin, NH from April 1941, until he was drafted into the army. He returned to Brown Company after his discharge and worked there until July, 1967 when he moved to New Smyrna Beach where he worked as a carpenter.

He is survived by his niece, Deborah Landry, his daughter, Maureen Cooper Marcotte and his Grandson Louis Muni, (Jessica). A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 31, 2012 at St. Kieran Cemetery on Hutchins Street in Berlin.
