John F Mooney

Berlin, NH

John F Mooney, of Cates Hill Road passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014. He was 77.

He was born on May 29, 1936 the son of Francis and Louise (Schmidt) Mooney.

On October 5, 1963 he married Lorraine Nolin and together they raised two sons.

John attended the City College of New York and was employed as a banker at European American Bank in New York City where among other accomplishments he helped found the SWIFT global bank settlement network. Before moving to Berlin, John was a long-term resident of Bridgewater, NJ where he served as President of the Green Knoll Rescue Squad.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Lorraine; their son Patrick R Mooney who passed away in 1986 and his brother Robert in 1989.

He leaves his son Michael Mooney and his wife Lorraine of Bronxville, NY; two grandchildren, Patrick and Caitlin; a brother-in-law Ray Nolin and wife Ann of Berlin; a sister-in-law Lucille L'Heureux of Nashua, NH; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Chapel service will be held at 7:30pm Friday, May 2, 2014 at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St, Berlin, NH. Burial will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 9:00am

Calling hours will be held from 6:00pm to 7:30pm Friday evening at the funeral home
