John Brown

John L Brown of North Conway, NH passed away with his daughter by his side at Mineral Springs in North Conway, NH on July 22, 2013 where he made his home for the last 9 A years.

John was born in Conway, NH on March 8, 1925. He was the son of the late John Brown Sr and Edvie Banfill of Conway.

He and his wife, Eileen lived in Conway the early years of their life and raised three daughters.

John and Eileen owned and operated several businesses before going to work for Bell Telephone. He retired in his early 50's and moved to Florida in the winter and lived in Conway and Sebago Lake area in Maine in the summer.

He was a life time member of the American Legion Post 46, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Battle of the Budge and Telephone Pioneers of America.

After retiring he and his wife Eileen enjoyed traveling.

His wife of 62 years, Eileen predeceased him in 2008. He leaves behind his daughters, Patty Thurston and late husband Robert Thurston of Conway, NH, Linda Brackett and husband Scott Brackett of Conway, NH, and Darlene Junkins and companion Mark Leet of Boscawen, NH. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Holly MacDonald, Hydie Bryan, Diana Magoon, Tami Kempf, Ricky Tucker, Charlie Thurston, John Dowes and Brandy Junkins, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren which he loved very much.

John was predeceased by his brothers Wilber Brown of North Carolina, Franklin Brown of Berwick, ME and a sister Pauline Ramsdell of Berwick, ME. He also leaves behind his sisters Eva Swan of Berwick, ME and Jean Smith of Alfred, ME and a brother-in-law Larry Ramsdell of Berwick, ME. He also leaves many nieces and nephews behind.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the Conway Village Cemetery on July 27, 2013 at 1:00pm. Everyone is welcome.
