Joan Y. (Dion) Roy of Burgess Street passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Androscoggin Valley Hospital. She was 80 years old.

Born on March 17, 1935 in Berlin, NH, she was the daughter of Lionel J. and Marie Rose (Landry) Dion.

A lifelong resident of Berlin, Joan was a graduate of Notre Dame High School.

She was employed as a nurse's aide at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, retiring after 37 years of service.

Joan enjoyed traveling, camping, attending horse racing and spending time with grandchildren and family, especially the time she spent with her great-granddaughter Tesa. She was an avid NY Yankees Fan.

Besides her parents, she is pre-deceased by her husband Lucien Roy (1988) and a stepson David Roy (2014).

She leaves her companion of 20 years Ron Cox, her son Frank Roy and wife Judy of Berlin, a daughter Laura King and husband Robert of Berlin, a sister Lorraine Tanguay and her companion Hank Orr; grandchildren Katie Roy of Exeter, NH, Cynthia Litvin and husband Scott of Berlin, Heather Roy of Portsmouth, NH, Andrea Ferron and husband Gary of Berlin, Jennifer Roy of Portsmouth, and Kelli King of El Paso, TX; great-granddaughter Tesa Litvin of Berlin, a stepdaughter Colette Parker and husband George of Beecher Falls, VT, a stepson Ronald Roy of Maryland, step-grandchildren Donna Biron of Errol, NH, Lori Eastman of Concord, NH and Kelly Eastman of Errol, NH; several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.

Committal prayers will be held at 11:45am Monday, July 20th at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Berlin.
