Jennie A. Chambers

Mrs. Jennie A. (Boutilier) Chambers, 91, formerly of 13 Madison Ave., Gorham, NH passed away on Wednesday April 2, 2008 at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin. She was born in Oakfield, ME on July 6, 1916 the daughter of Freeman and Elsie Boutilier and has lived in Gorham since 1951. She was a member of the Gorham Methodist Church, was a secretary for Edward Morse Insurance Agency, was the Town of Gorham Treasurer and a school Treasurer and had worked for a time in the library at Ed Fenn School. Jennie was an avid quilter and had made 1000 quilts for AIDS babies. She was a member of the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion Auxiliary for 53 years. She enjoyed square dancing with her husband Norman and was a former member of the Papertown Pacers. Members of the family include a son Michael Chambers and his wife Dawn of Hooksett, NH; a daughter Paulette Chambers of Gorham, NH; 3 grandchildren Garrett Chambers and his wife Kristen of Pembroke, NH, Evan Chambers of Hooksett, NH and P.J. Labonte of Gorham, NH; a great granddaughter Alison Chambers; a brother Charles Boutilier of Tegard, OR; two sisters Mrs. Thelma Mitchell of Island Falls, ME and Mrs. Hazel Cameron of Presque Isle, ME; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Norman Chambers and by several brothers and sisters. Private funeral services for the family will be held at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the Lary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
