Jeannette C (Poirier) King

Jeannette C. King of Berlin passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. She was 89 years old.



Born in Barton VT, on December 28, 1929 she was the daughter of Jacques and Yvonne (Bernier) Poirier. She was a communicant of St. Kieran’s Parish, now Good Shepherd Parish.



Jeannette was employed at Ware Knitter, Converse. She was a head cook at St Vincent Nursing Home and then worked for AV Home Care.



Mom was someone who knew the true meaning of love and she shared it with everyone around her. She loved the holidays especially Christmas, when she would bake for us so much that there was no more counter space and she would never forget her famous “Green Jello”. In the summer she enjoyed yard sales, sitting on her porch, and shopping at Walmart year round. She was cared for at home by “her girls”, Justina, Jamie and Linda, she loved them like family. She resided at Coos County Nursing Home for a short time and loved playing Bingo and Pub Night. She loved her nurses and LNA’s.



She is predeceased by her parents, her husbands, Raymond King in 1981 and Gerard Roy in 2000; her son Aurel in 1957 and grandson Carl King in 2007. Also eight brothers and three sisters.



She leaves behind her sons; Richard Sr. and wife Ellen of Berlin, Raymond Roy and wife Vickie of Berlin; daughters Joanne Orloski and husband Myron of MA, Debbie Murphy and husband Thomas of Conway, NH; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Also her brothers Robert Poirier of Gorham and Lawrence Perry and wife Florence of Berlin. Many nieces and nephews.



Calling hours will be held prior to the service on Wednesday, June 19th from 8:30am to 9:30am at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH 03570



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Wednesday, June 19th at 10:00am at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will follow at St. Kieran’s Cemetery.
