Jean B. Lary, 84, of Gorham, NH passed away on Tuesday January 15, 2012 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. She was born in Berlin on January 4, 1929 the daughter of the late Wilton MacLeod and Dorothy (Bell) Schandler and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC, enjoyed reading and knitting, and was very involved with the community including: the Gorham Alumni Association, was a library trustee, was a school board member, was a volunteer for the Learning School, was a substitute teacher, was on the Budget Committee, was an Eastern Star Member, was a Den Leader, worked at the Information Booth, work at the auto road, worked at Welshs, was a past Grand Marshall of the 4th of July Parade, was a judge of the 4th of July parade and was a police dispatcher. Members of the family include 6 children: Peter A. Lary, Sr. and wife Elaine of Webster, NH, Mary E. Robinson of Fort Myers, FL, Jane Lary of Littleton, NH, Don F. Lary and wife Michelle of Deerfield, NH, Bruce Lary and wife Maryann of Gorham, NH and Michael Lary and wife Jennifer of Moreau, NY; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister Joan Adams of Gray, ME; 1 niece, 1 nephew and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Corson S Bud Lary in 1984. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 19, 2013 at 11 AM at the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC in Gorham. Interment will be in the Lary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Gorham Congregational Church, 143 Main St., Gorham, NH, 03581 or to the Gorham Alumni Association.
