Mrs. Janice Gertrude (Smith) Perreault, 68, of Riverside Drive, Berlin, NH passed away suddenly on March 22, 2008 after suffering from pneumonia and serious related complications. She was born in Berlin, NH on April 4, 1939 the daughter of John and Evelyn (Michaud) Smith and was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from St. Patricks High School in 1957, recently celebrating her 50th class reunion. Janice worked at Granite State Converse and Bass Shoe Companies, The Berlin Reporter, finishing her career with many years of service at Tri County Community Action Program. She volunteered her time and service for several organizations including Androscoggin Valley Hospital and St. Kieran Church. Janice was fond of babysitting her adopted grandchildren, enjoyed reading and crosswords, attending Mass at Good Shepherd Parish, and spoiling and visiting her first beloved grandson, Matthew Wheaton in California. Janice will be fondly remembered by all who knew her as someone with a generous spirit and she will be greatly missed. Love you Jan. Members of the family include 2 daughters Vicki Perreault of Manchester, NH and Celine Perreault Wheaton and husband Ted of San Marcos, CA; 1 grandson Matthew Perreault Wheaton of San Marcos, CA; a cousin Gertrude Charest of Berlin, NH and many other close friends and family members. She was predeceased by her husband Laurier Perreault, her parents, and family member Scott Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 29, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin on Friday evening from 7 to 9 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of ones choice. A reception will be following the service to be announced.
