Jane Hopkins Palmer

Jane "Janie" Hopkins Palmer, 86, of West Stewartstown, NH passed away October 3 after a short illness.



Jane was born March 15, 1935 to Elizabeth (Young) Palmer and Roger Sterne Palmer in New York, NY. She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Davies of Durham, NC, brother Charles Lynde Palmer of Belfast, ME, nephews Timothy, Peter and Matthew Palmer and several grand-nieces and nephews.



Jane's energy, curiosity and dauntless spirit were ageless. She moved cross-country in her 20s, was a single parent in her 30s, Coast Guard Auxiliary officer in her 40s, interior designer in her 50s. Master Gardener in her 60s and Taekwondo black belt in her 70s. Even in her 80s, Jane continued her passions for gardening, quilting, cooking, history, and caring for her animals, friends and community.



Janie approached life like the crosswords and mystery novels she loved so much: clue by clue, building a story to a generally satisfactory end, and always willing to share what she learned along the way.



Janie loved social events and a gathering will be planned soon when friends can attend and weather allows. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Coos Animal Sanctuary, or the nature or animal rescue of your choice.
