Irene Montminy

Irene Routhier Montminy, age 89, passed away November 30, 2014.

Irene was born in Manchester, NH on January 17, 1925, daughter of the late Jacques and Emilia Nault Routhier.

She attended Guardian Angel school and was a 1943 graduate of Notre Dame High School. A longtime communicant of Guardian Angel Parish and she was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She moved to the Holy Family Parish in Gorham, NH and then to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Burlington, VT. She was married to Ronaldo Montminy for over 50 years. Together they raised two sons, Richard & Paul. Irene greatly enjoyed sewing, knitting and the time she could spend with her family, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also an avid cribbage player.

She is survived by her children, Richard and wife Christie of Florida, Paul and wife Lisa of New Hampshire. She is also survived by her two sisters, Jean Cormier & Sue Gilbert of Burlington, VT. She leaves five grandchildren, Scott and his wife Ginny, John and Keith of VA and Linda & Ella of New Hampshire. She also leaves behind two great grandchildren, Dylan & Claire, of VA and many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.

She proceeded in death by her husband Ronaldo in 1995, her brother Marcel in 1995 and her sister Fern in 2006.

Funeral services were held in Burlington VT on Friday, December 5, 2014. Burial will be at Mt Calvary Cemetery, Berlin, NH 03570
