Irene D. Patenaude, 90, of 53 Main St., Berlin, passed away on Wednesday December 20th at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. She was born in Berlin on August 11, 1927, the daughter to Louis E. and Louise (Plourde) Lambert. Irene lived in Berlin until 1968 when she moved to Florida. She served as a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 72 Division as a Finance Staff Officer for 10 years in St. Petersburg, Florida and spent her work years as owner/manager of her 24 unit, St. Pete residence. She helped guide many folks in their most difficult times through her kindnesses. She was an active and resilient woman who could weather any storm. Irene moved back to Berlin in 2004 stating that her dream was now true, home with her children and her ever growing family. Irene belonged to the Good Shepherd Parish. Mom was active and always had a project, never could sit still. Always willing to help till her passing. Wise with her counsel, kind and generous, she painted life as it was. She will be missed, she was our beloved La Mere a painture. Her immediate family includes her three children; daughter Sharon and husband Douglas Stephenson of Milan, NH, daughter Susan and husband Jerry Gingras of Brentwood, NH, son Gary and wife Michelle Dube of Berlin, NH; 7 grandchildren, Jason, Aaron, Angela, Jill, Nathan, Nicholas and Ryan; 15 grandchildren, Zachary, Simon, Natalie, Ryan, Gabrielle, Caleb, Joseph, Joshua, Georgia, Evelyn, Trinity, Ethan, Tristin, Colton and Connor; 1 great-great grandson, Ryder, with 2 new babies arriving for early 2018; siblings Helen Lamothe, Lucille Boucher, Henri Lambert and Dorothy Bolia; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings Angele Poison, John Lambert, Lucien Lambert, Marielle Blais, Therese Lefevre and grandson Nicholas Dube. Funeral Services will be held on Friday December 29, 2017 at 1 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery.
