Hector J. Pouliot, 90, of 84 Granite Street, Berlin, NH passed away Friday May 2, 2014 after a brief illness. He was born on March 18, 1924 the son of Gedeon and Amanda (Fontaine) Pouliot. He served his country in World War II, First Infantry Division with a tour of duty in Europe and also worked in the CCC Camps. He was employed by Brown Company, Bath Iron Works, Kirks Parking, Chapel St. Mall, and the Marketta in New Haven, Conn. Having left for 33 years, he returned to Berlin in 2004 to his roots; its history, people and mountains he so loved. He was generous and always willing to lend a helping hand, well read and witty, he could often be heard sharing his Joi De Vie; a story, a laugh or a song and dance. He will be missed by his family, dear friend of thirty years Rose Daniels and all who loved him. Family includes his daughter Linda L. Pouliot of Rochester, NH; One sister Rosaline Accox of Bakersfield, CA; Two grandsons Jeffrey J. Duchesne of Barrington, NH and Joshua J. Duchesne of Boston, MA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Robert L. Pouliot in 2004 and three brothers; Leonard, Laurier and Rene Pouliot A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday May 9, 2014 at 1pm at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Russian City Cemetery in Berlin. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Androscoggin Valley Hospital attention Living Memorial Program, 59 Page Hill Road, Berlin, NH or the Disabled Veterans, 275 Chestnut Street, Rm 515, Manchester, NH 03101.
