Gertrude R. Bacon

Gertrude R. Bacon, 89, of Berlin, passed away on Sunday December 21, 2014 at her home. She was born in Berlin on December 17, 1925 the daughter of Antoine and Alphonsine (Dupont) Dube and lived most of her life in Berlin. She had resided for a few years in Claremont, NH, early in her marriage. She had been employed by Converse Rubber Co. , Bass Shoe and lastly, for Gamm, Inc. Gertrude was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, was President of the Social Club, Vice-President of the Ladies of St. Anne, was a board member of the Golden Age Club, a member of the Marie Rivier Association and was a choir member for many years at St. Anne. She also volunteered at the St. Vincent Thrift Shop, enjoyed knitting, gardening, communicating with family and friends on Facebook and loved baking for her family and grandchildren. Family includes her sons Paul Bacon and wife Gail of Meredith, NH and Louis Bacon and wife Gloria of Berlin, NH; her daughter Diane Duisdecker and husband Jan of Canterberry, NH; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Bacon, who died in 1984, as well as her 9 siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 24, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 153 Grafton St., Berlin, NH, 03570 or to a charity of ones choice.
