Mr. Gerald Pat Marcou, Sr. , 84, of 28 Cascade Flats, Gorham, NH passed away on Sunday December 2, 2007 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, NH. He was born in Berlin, NH on January 19, 1923 the son of William and Elizabeth (Hayes) Marcou and was a lifelong resident of the area. He had been employed by Brown Company and James River Corporation at the Cascade Mill for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Kieran Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish. Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing, tending his garden and feeding the deer during the winter months at his camp in Dummer. He was a member of the Dupont-Holmes Post # 82 American Legion and a life member of the White Mountain Post 2520 VFW. He served as Fire Chief at the Cascade-Gorham Fire Department for many years and was a former selectman for the Town of Gorham. Members of the family include his wife Elsie (Dalphone) Marcou of Cascade-Gorham, NH; 1 daughter Suzanne DErcole and her husband Donald of Brunswick, GA; 2 sons Gerald P. Marcou, Jr. and his wife Gail of Gorham, NH and Timothy Marcou and his wife Suzanne of Cascade-Gorham, NH; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Margaret Peggy Dalphonse of Cascade-Gorham, NH and Theresa Maddalena of Berlin, NH; 2 brothers Harold Marcou of Punta Gorda, FL and Daniel Marcou of Gorham, NH; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by 4 brothers Oscar, Brendan, Billy and Leo and 1 sister Elizabeth Betty Dalphonse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church in Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade Street, Gorham, NH on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 9 PM. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in his memory to a charity of their choice.
