Gerald P. Curtis, 69, of Norway St., Berlin, NH passed away on Wednesday August 1, 2012 at his home. He was born in Lando, SC on April 8, 1943 the son of William Carl and Nanzetta (Irby) Curtis and was raised in South Carolina. Gerald spent 28 years in the US Air Force and moved to Berlin in 2005. He and his wife owned and operated The North Country Flea Market and Gunshop in Gorham for the past several years, until illness forced him to retire in April of 2012. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Berlin and his greatest interests were operating his store and going to flea markets. Members of the family include his wife Cecilia (Moreau) Curtis of Berlin, NH; children Marsha Young and husband Eddie of Chester, SC, Lisa Gaston and husband Dennis of Chester, SC and Kristie Elwell and husband Jimmy York, SC; stepchildren Jennifer Tate of Bartlett, NH and Jason Gleason of Manchester, NH; grandchildren, Ashley Young, Cody Young, Lee Huffstetler, Zach, Miranda, Dillon and Kyla Gaston, Stephen, Evan and Hailee Arnette, Madisyn Elwell, Devin Tate and 1 great granddaughter Bailey Rowe; sister Lynne West; brothers James Curtis, Richard Curtis, Joe Curtis and Bill Curtis; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Marilyn. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
