Gerald E. Sickler, 79, of Berlin, passed away on Monday October 23, 2017 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He was born in Saratoga Springs, NY on April 21, 1938 the son of Harold and June and was raised by an aunt and uncle, William and Marion Henning. He attended school in New York and graduated from McIntosh College in Dover, NH with an Associate Degree in Travel and Tourism. Gerald married Cecile Beaudoin in 1960 and made his career in the US Navy and the US Air Force. He served in various places, including Vietnam, and spent the last 3 years of service in Hawaii. Upon retiring, they moved to Berlin in 1988 and he worked at St. Michael School. Gerald was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, served as an Eucharistic Minister and was a MRA Associate. Family includes his wife Cecile (Beaudoin) Sickler of Berlin, NH; son Mark Sickler of Berlin, NH; daughter Gayle Signs and husband Patrick of Wichita Falls, TX; 4 grandchildren John and wife Kirsten Dugger from IL, Jessica Dugger from CA, Caramon Burrows from Berlin, NH and Mark C. Burrows from TX; 4 great grandchildren Joy Dugger from SC, Rune, Alice and Illia Dugger from IL; and a brother William Hennings, Jr and his wife Eleanor from Saratoga Springs, NY; several nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday October 26, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Wednesday from 2 to 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus Council # 506 of Berlin, NH, the Food Pantry of Berlin, NH or Good Shepherd Parish of Berlin, NH.
