Mr. George E. Riendeau, Jr., 84, passed away unexpectedly on July 4th, 2012 surrounded by his family. Born December 11, 1927, in Berlin NH, he was the son of George E. and Delina (Duchesnaye) Riendeau Sr. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish where he also served for many years as an usher. He was a member of the American Legion and served in the United States Air Force. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved celebrating life with all. George was a self-taught musician and loved playing music along with his dad, sisters and cousins. George loved to garden and created a beautiful garden in tribute to Our Lady of Fatima. In his younger years, George enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and his own son, Michael. In his later years; he enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his friends at the Holiday Center and enjoyed his Sunday breakfast with his friends at the Valley Creek Eatery. George enjoyed every moment of life as much as possible and made a lasting impression on everyone he encountered! George resided in Berlin all of his life and worked as a laborer in Cascade for Brown Co. and James River Co. and retired after 46 years. George is survived by his son and "buddy", Michael E. Riendeau and wife Janet of Berlin, daughter Rosemarie Gelinas and husband Marcel of Laconia, daughter Celeste Coulombe and husband Edward of Berlin, daughter Susan Lamon of Belmont, and "The Last of the Mohicans" - Angela Clark and husband Jim of Berlin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Cecile Strawhawn and husband Ben and Lena Martin of Vista, CA. and several nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Lorraine B. (Gagne) Riendeau; his first-born daughter, Celeste Riendeau; his parents, George and Delina Riendeau Sr.; two sisters, Madeleine Lovejoy and Anita Chateauneuf. Calling hours are Sunday, July 8th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St., Berlin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 9th at the Good Shepherd Parish at 10:00 am. Burial with Military Honors will be at St. Kieran Cemetery, Berlin.
