Gabrielle I Couture, 89, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Country Village Center in Lancaster, NH where she has resided for the past 3 A years, she was surrounded by her family. Gabrielle was born in Berlin on November 3, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Oliva and Noellia (Mailhot) Girouard. On May 4, 1942, she married Joseph Couture and together they raised two daughters and one son.

She was a member of the Guardian Angel Parish and, more recently, the St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish.

Her greatest love was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband, Joseph, spent many wonderful years together in what was always their beloved family home on Howland Street in Berlin.

Besides her family Gabrielle enjoyed working in her garden, enjoyed knitting and crocheting, cooking, fishing and picnicking with Joseph.

She is survived by her daughters, Anne Marie Hartman and husband Donald of Berlin, NH, Lucille Couture of Clearwater, FL, her son, Roland Couture and wife Virginia of Groveton, NH; Gabrielle also leaves 4 grandchildren, Roland Couture, Debra Tredo, Douglas Holuba and Nancy Holuba and 4 great-grandchildren, Christopher Couture, Jessica Couture, David Tredo and Andrea Tredo her brother Normand Girouard and wife Claire of Dummer, NH as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph who died on September 5, 1995. Her sisters Pauline Lavigne, Jeanne Grondin; her brothers Etienne Girouard, Robert Girouard, Marcel Girouard, Alban Girouard, Gaston Girouard. Her grandson, Brian Couture, who passed away in 1996.

You may call on the family on Thursday, December 19, 2013 between 2:00pm - 4:00pm, 7:00pm - 9:00pm and on Friday December 20, 2013 between 8:30am - 9:30am at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, December 20, 2013, at St Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Burial will follow in the Mt Calvary Cemetery in Berlin.
