Frank A. Oleson

Frank A. Oleson, 91, of Berlin, passed away on Friday January 8, 2016 at the St. Vincent de Paul Nursing and Rehab Center in Berlin. He was born in Berlin on August 3, 1924 the son of Frank A. Oleson, Sr. and Beatrice E. (Derry) Oleson and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Berlin High School with the Class of 1942 and served in the US Army 10th Mountain Division where he was wounded in Italy and received a Purple Heart. Frank had been employed by Public Service Co. of NH for 40 years, retiring as District Manager of the Berlin District Office. He enjoyed skiing and golfing was a Director of the Androscoggin Valley Country Club, a former member of the Nansen Ski Club, a member of the Gorham Sabattis Lodge #73 F & AM, a former member of the VFW and a former member of the American Legion. Family includes his wife Marion M. (Sheridan) Oleson of Berlin, NH; sister-in-law Irene Oleson of Berlin, NH; nephews Peter Holden of Bow, NH, and Mike King of CA and niece Susan Faucher of SC . He was predeceased by his brother Carl Oleson and sisters Patricia Holden and Shirley King. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 1 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral Home on Wednesday from 11 AM until 1 PM, prior to the service. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
