Francisco J. Alimandi

Francisco Joseph Alimandi, 85, of Berlin, NH passed away peacefully on November 20, 2016 at 4:45 AM at Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, NH after a battle of bone marrow cancer. He was born in Berlin on March 7, 1931 the son of the late Eugene and Antonia (Grannucci) Alimandi and was a lifelong resident. Francis had been employed by Brown Company/James River for 44 years and was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, Millsfield Camp Club and the F. O. E and had served as a cook in the National Guard for many years. Francis married the love of his life and soul-mate Aldea Perry on June 23, 1951 and together they raised 4 children: Daniel Francis, Michael Leo, Anna Marie Pearl and Francis Joseph, Jr. His passions in life were his family, which always came first, and his friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed playing cards (especially cribbage), horseshoes, his vegetable garden and playing the harmonica, accordion and spoons. He had plenty of rhythm. Francis was a good singer and dancer who enjoyed the foot jig, square dancing and the polka. He was a very generous person and was always there if anyone ever needed a hand. He was loved by many. Family includes his children Daniel Alimandi and wife Brinda of Berlin, Francis Alimandi, Jr. of Berlin and Anna Marie Lutz and husband David of Berlin; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Aldea (Perry) Alimandi in 2012, son Michael L. Alimandi in 2010 and siblings Maria Rudisill, Menjol Alimandi, Elizabeth Roy, Stephen Alimandi and Joseph Alimandi. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday November 29, 2016 at 10 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Interment will be in St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.
