Fern R. Stiles

Miss Fern R. Stiles, 93, formerly of the East Side River Road, Milan, NH passed away on Friday evening December 29, 2006 at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin. She was born in Milan, NH on February 23, 1913 the daughter of Winfield Scott Stiles and Mary Eliza (Jewett) Stiles and was a lifelong resident. Fern served the town of Milan as Librarian for 62 years, was a member of the Milan Service Society and a former member of the Androscoggin Grange #228 holding the office of secretary for many years. She was also employed for 32 years at the Yokohama Restaurant in Gorham. Fern had been a member of the Milan United Methodist Church since 1960, a member of the Emily Flint Rebekah Lodge, the Milan Homemakers, and the Dummer Ladies Society. Members of the family include her sister Iris Frechette of Gorham; a first cousin Durward Jewett of Dummer; a special nephew Wayne Frechette of Randolph; nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends, including a special friend Susan Kelley of Milan. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at the Milan United Methodist Church in Milan, NH on Wednesday January 3, 2007 at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Milan. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin, NH on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Memorial donations are to be sent to Iris Frechette, 3 Lilac Lane, Gorham, NH 03581 to be divided between the charities that Fern has designated.
