Eugene Turgeon

Mr. Eugene Gene Turgeon, 80, of 216 High Street, Berlin, NH passed away on Wednesday December 27, 2006 at the Concord Hospital in Concord, NH. He was born in Berlin, NH on June 6, 1926 the son of Placide and Eugenia (Veilleux) Turgeon and was a lifelong resident. He was a Veteran of World War II. He was employed all of his working years as a meat cutter, retiring as meat manager of Kelleys Supermarket. Gene was a member of Guardian Angel Church, now known as Good Shepherd Parish, a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He very much enjoyed his family and was an avid Red Sox fan. Members of the family include 1 son Denis Turgeon and his wife Sherry of Concord, NH; 2 daughters Susan Spencer and her husband Jimmie of Dumfries, VA and Diane Leclerc and her husband Roland of Berlin, NH; grandchildren Kristine Fay of Concord, NH, Amy Wilczynski of Weare, NH, Lynn Denoy of Braintree, MA, Melissa Grubbs of Charlotte, NC, Michelle Spencer of Richmond, VA, Stacie Leclerc of Berlin, NH and Derek Leclerc of Berlin; 2 sisters Elizabeth Chagnon of Berlin and Angeline Lachapelle of Old Orchard, ME and 1 brother Henry Turgeon of Fort Myers Beach, Florida; his wifes half-brother, whom they raised as a son, Michael Berry and his children Denis, Michelle, Jeremy and Katherine; several nieces and nephews. Gene is also survived by a special caregiver Karen Laflamme. He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years Pauline (Whalen) Turgeon in 1989; and by his siblings Adrien, Armand, Norbert, Denis, Lucien, Laurette and Bernadette. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 30, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, Berlin on Friday evening from 7 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made the Androscoggin Valley Hospital, 59 Page Hill Road, Berlin, NH, 03570 and to the Concord Hospital, 250 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301 to be used where they are needed the greatest.
