Ernest L. Guay

Ernest L. Guay, 88, passed away Tuesday August 30, 2016 at St. Vincent de Paul Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Guay was born in Berlin on May 17, 1928, a son of Eugene Joseph and Emeranda (Payette) Guay and was a lifelong resident of the area. He served in the National Guard for 8 years and worked as an electrician for Brown Company and James River Corp. until retiring in 1990. Ernest was a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish and the Androscoggin Valley Country Club. He was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of retiring in Ft. Myers, FL. Family members include his wife Pearl (Couture) Guay of Berlin; a son Ronald Guay and wife Bernie of Berlin; 2 daughters Susan Guay and companion David Comeau of Berlin and Debra Goddard and husband Robert of Berlin; 2 grandsons; Marc Tardiff and wife Erica of East Hampton, CT and Michael Tardiff of El Segundo, CA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings; Aline Turcotte, Lucy Myler, George Guay, Henry Guay and Claire Hiltz. At Ernests request there are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday September 6, 2016 at 1pm at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, Berlin. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
