Elwin Ellsworth Blake 48, died suddenly February 10, 2008. Born in Berlin he has resided in Hooksett for the past 38 years. Mr. Blake had been employed as a mechanic for the City of Manchester for the past 23 years. Elwin had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Dummer. He was an accomplished hunter and fisherman. He was predeceased by his father Ellsworth Blake. Members of his family include his mother Bette Blake of Hooksett. Six sisters Susan Blake of Hooksett, Mary Melendy of Campton, Barbara McGuire of South Carolina, Blanche Bartlett of Goffstown, Nancy Clair of Auburn and Bonny Blake of Hooksett. Nieces Tami Melendy, Kristin Melendy, Alyssa Bartlett, Melessa McGuire. Nephews Kurt Melendy and Thomas Bartlett. Great niece Hannah Melendy. Several aunts and uncles. Calling hours will be Thursday from 7-9PM at the French and Rising Funeral Home, 17 South Mast Street, Goffstown and Saturday from 9-11AM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin. Funeral services will be Saturday at 12:00 PM at the Dummer Community Church in Dummer. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Milan. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Hampshire Wildlife Federation, 54 Portsmouth St, Concord, NH 03301.
