Elsie M. Marcou

Elsie M. (Dalphonse) Marcou, 89, of Gorham, NH passed away on Wednesday October 29, 2014 at the Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin, surrounded by her family. She was born in Cascade-Gorham on February 8, 1925 the daughter of Camille and Marie (DiMattio) Dalphonse and was a lifelong resident of Gorham. She graduated from Gorham High School and had been employed as an operator for New England Tel & Tel and later as a receptionist at Brown Company and James River Corp. Elsie was a member of Holy Family Church and liked to travel with family and friends. Many people enjoyed her great Italian cooking. Family includes her daughter Suzanne DErcole and husband Don of Brunswick, GA; sons Timothy Marcou of Cascade-Gorham, NH and Gerald Marcou and wife Gail of Gorham, NH;brother Nick Dalphonse and wife Peggy of Gorham, NH; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald Pat Marcou in 2007 and a sister Anna DePaolo in 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Saturday November 1, 2014 at 10 AM . Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
