Eleanor M. Merrill

Mrs. Eleanor M. (Deblois) Merrill, 93, of 185 Main Street, Gorham, NH passed away on Sunday morning May 7, 2006 at her home. She was born in Lowell, VT on Nov. 26, 1912 the daughter of Amos and Julia (Guilbeault) Deblois and has resided in Gorham since the 1950s. Prior to her retirement, Eleanor was employed by the Golden Lunch Restaurant and at Granite State Rubber Company. She attended school at St. Johnsbury Academy. She was very family oriented, enjoyed her grandchildren and was always ready to help them, was an excellent cook, loved to crochet and give her doilies to family and friends. Eleanor was a member of Holy Family Church. Members of the family include her daughter Shirley Hartford and her husband John of Gorham; 7 grandchildren Michael Merrill and his wife Kathy of Farmington, NH, Cynthia Fitzgerald and her husband Chuck of Farmington, NH, Crystal Forbes and husband Mike of Strafford, NH, Ronald Snyder of Berlin, NH, Brenda Lambert and her husband Matthew of Berlin, NH, Candy Malinowski and her husband Jason of Easton, PA and JoAnn Fitts and her husband Chris of Upton, MA; 14 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Clyde in 1979; a son Merton Merrill in 1997; and by 4 brothers Melvin Deblois, Merrill Deblois, Orial Deblois and Louis Deblois. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday evening May 10, 2006 at 8:00 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade Street, Gorham, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 8 PM, prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the the St. Johnsbury Center Cemetery in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.
