Mr. Edward V. Wasuta, 90, of 50 North Road, Jefferson, NH passed away on Saturday January 23, 2010 at his home. He was born in Holyoke, MA on November 17, 1919 the son of Zachary and Helen (Skivel) Wasuta and resided in Chicopee, MA and graduated from high school there. He later attended Parks Air College in St. Louis, MO. Although he did not serve in the military, Mr. Wasuta served as a civilian in China, India and the Burma Theater, as well as, the Pacific Theater for the Air Corps. He overhauled shops in Agra and Bangalore, India and bomber bases in the Pacific. He served as a Tech Rep for an aircraft engine manufacturer called, Wright Aeronautical Corporation out of Patterson, NJ. This position was held from 1942 throughout the end of the war in 1945. After World War II, he worked in Paris, France with TWA at Orley Field for about 5 years. Upon returning to the US, he became employed with TWA at LaGuardia Field and Kennedy Airport. He enjoyed fishing. Members of the family include 2 daughters Nina Moore of Hawthorn, CA and Laura Cicchetti of Beverly, MA; 1 son William Wasuta of Jefferson, NH; 6 grandchildren Zachary, Gregory, Nadia, Zoya, Jacob and Lance Cpl. Jennie Chicchetti, USMC, currently stationed in San Diego, CA; 2 brothers Stephen J. Wasuta of Centennial, CO and Frank Wasuta of San Anselmo, CA; 2 sisters Genevieve Wasuta of Orrtanna, PA and Stefania Calvary of Laconia, NH; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Lushitsky) Wasuta and a sister Helen Wasuta. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday morning Jan. 27, 2010 at 11 AM at the Orthodox Church of the Holy Resurrection, Petrograd St., Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the Summer Street Cemetery in Lancaster, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday Jan. 26 beginning at 4 PM and continuing thru the evening. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association, NH Office, One Bedford Farms Dr., Suite 105, Bedford, NH, 03110. The Bryant Funeral Home in Berlin, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
