Edward J. Reichert, Esq.

Edward J. Reichert, Esq., 99, of Gorham, passed away on Sunday August 20, 2017 at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 18, 1918 the son of George J. and Julia (Whitney) Reichert and lived in the Gorham area most of his life. He was a Veteran of the US Navy. Ed graduated from Middlebury College in 1940 and from Yale Law School in 1947 and practiced law in the area for many years. He was a member of the NH Bar Association, was a Director and Officer of the Mt. Washington Stage Company, was a member of the Gorham-Sabatis Lodge # 73 F & AM and the Dupont-Holmes Post #82 American Legion. Ed touched the lives of many in his community and state. He will be greatly missed by all. Family includes his son James Reichert and wife Linda of Gorham, NH; grandchildren Tobey Reichert and wife Danielle of Gorham, NH, Angie Lewis and husband Kurt of Florida and great grandchildren Camden Reichert of Gorham, NH and Trista and Blaklee Lewis of Florida. He was predeceased by his wife Marion (Ray) Reichert, daughter Dianne and siblings John Reichert and Helen Chadwick. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday October 2, 2017 at 6 PM at the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC, Gorham. There will be no calling hours. Private interment will be held in the Evans Cemetery in Gorham, NH.
