Edouard J. Doherty

Edouard J. Doherty, 72, of Gorham, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Parkinson Disease on Thursday June 15, 2017 at the UC Health West Chester Hospital in West Chester, OH, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Berlin on February 10, 1945 the son of Maurice J. and Anita (Dione) Doherty and was raised in Berlin. He graduated from Notre Dame High School and lived for a time in Maine. He had been employed by the local paper mills for many years until his disability forced his retirement. Ed loved music, played many instruments and enjoyed playing music with his brother, Alex. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, his motorcycle and especially enjoyed time spent with his family. He will be sadly missed by his family and his dog, Lacey. Family includes his wife of 52 years JoAnn (Therriault) Doherty of Gorham, NH; daughters Sandy Landers and husband Jerry of Berlin, NH and Christine Guerin and husband Paul of Liberty Township, OH; a son Maurice Doherty and wife Dianne of Gorham, NH: loving grandchildren; sisters Pauline Clark, Julie Labrecque and Lucie Grondin; a brother Alex Doherty; nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday June 22, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Private interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
