Dorothy E. Alexander

Mrs. Dorothy E. Alexander, 81, formerly of 40 Promenade Street in Gorham, NH passed away on Thursday afternoon, November 29, 2007 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, NH. She was born in Berlin, NH on August 5, 1926 the daughter of Herbert and Margaret Ann (Cumber) Dickinson. She cared for her mother for many years. She resided for a time in Danvers, MA and later returned to the area with her husband. She had been a homemaker and employed by New England Telephone as an operator and also worked for Pratt & Whitney in Hartford, CT prior to her marriage. She was a member of the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Berlin. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an avid Red Sox fan. Members of her family include her daughter Nancy Smith and her husband Norman of Belmont, NH; three granddaughters Leah Goldberg and her husband Jeremy of Milton, MA, Sarah Lemieux of Gorham, NH and Katherine Berry of Belmont, NH; four great grandchildren; one brother Harold Dickinson of Enfield, CT; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Charles W. Alexander in 1975. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held on Sunday afternoon December 2, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Bryant Funeral Home 1 Promenade Street in Gorham, NH. Interment will be in the Russian City Cemetery in Berlin. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 4 PM and on Sunday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM prior to the service.
