Doris L (Dugas) Fortier

Doris L. Fortier, 97, of Berlin, passed away peacefully at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital after a period of failing health. She was born in Berlin, NH on October 7, 1921 to Majorique and Emma (Brooks) Dugas. She attended Angel Guardian Parochial School and Berlin High School. She met Leo Fortier in Berlin and the couple married on May 3, 1948 at Angel Guardian Catholic Church in Berlin. Doris was a stay at home Mom and together they raised two children.



Doris was a communicant at Guardian Angel Parish for many years and later Good Shepherd Parish. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Annes, M.E.S.H., The Golden Age Club, R.S.V.P., MRA, and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Shop. She enjoyed playing BINGO and cards, as well as traveling. She had a talent for crocheting afghans and other goods and often donated them to charity. Doris was a wonderful cook and her fudge will be missed by many. More than anything else she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.



She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Leo, a grandson Jonathan Memolo, a brother Lioniel Dugas, and a sister Gladys Murphy. She is survived by her son Donald Fortier and his wife Susan of The Villages, FL, a daughter Lorraine Memolo and her husband Louis of Gorham, three grandchildren, Steven Fortier and his wife Lauren, Scott Fortier, and Amy Memolo, four great-grandchildren Riley, Kelsey, Carter, and Cian, a brother Raymond Dugas of Berlin, and a sister, Sr. Blanche Dugas of Manchester, several nieces and nephews and many close friends.



Friends and Family may call at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High St. Berlin NH on Monday September 9 from 11:30 to 12:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church at 1PM concluded by interment at St. Anne Cemetery.
