Doris (Hayes) Gorham

Mrs. Doris (Hayes) Gorham, 79, of 133 North Road, Shelburne, NH, passed away on Sunday September 21, 2008 at her home. She was born in Shelburne, NH on July 25, 1929 the daughter of Roland F. and Margaret A. (Wilson) Hayes and was a lifelong resident. She had been employed by Wildcat Ski Area and Richs Department Store. She was a member of the Shelburne Neighbors Club, the Shelburne Park Commission, the cemetery trustees in Shelburne and attended the Gorham Congregational Church. Members of the family include her companion of 32 + years Francis Greenwood of Shelburne, NH; 4 children Lona Tassey and husband Matthew of Old Orchard Beach, ME, Paula Simonoko and husband Ken of Shelburne, NH, Dennis Gorham of Somersworth, NH and Dan Gorham and wife Diane of Gorham, NH; 7 grandchildren Meredith Verrill, Shane Simonoko, Rae Simonoko, Chris Gorham, Mike Gorham, Stefan Gorham and Danika Gorham; 2 great-grandchildren Camden Verrill and Skye Simonoko; 4 brothers Roland Hayes, Jr. of Shelburne, NH, Richard Hayes of Shelburne, NH, Warren Tommy Hayes of Shelburne, NH and Charlie Hayes of Wisconsin; 4 sisters Helen Saunders of So. Paris, ME, Dottie Bean of Bethel, ME, Tillie Myers of Shelburne, NH and Shirley Lemay of Merrimack, NH; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Gorham. Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 25, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC. Interment will be in the Wheeler Cemetery in Shelburne, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Upper Valley Hostel, 17 South St., Hanover, NH, 03755 or to the American Cancer Society.
