Donald Fiske

Mr. Donald Fiske, 76, died on January 20, 2007 at the St. Vincent de Paul Healthcare Center in Berlin, NH, where he was loved and cared for during the past three and half years. Don was born on September 7, 1930 to Carl and Abigail Fiske. He was a lifelong resident of Gorham, NH. He was a 1948 graduate of Gorham High School and he served in the Korean War in the U.S. Army as a chauffeur to the General. During his years of employment, he worked for Berlin Chrysler Plymouth as a Parts Manager, Top Furniture as a Service Manager and later owned and operated the Gorham Garage. In retirement, he enjoyed serving as a host camper at Coleman State Park in Colebrook where he loved to fish, camp and meet people. He was a long-time member and Past Master of the Gorham Sabatis Lodge F & AM and served as Chaplain of the American Legion in Gorham for many years. During his years at St. Vincents, he proudly wore his Volunteer badge as he generously gave of himself to assist others in need at the home. He is survived by his three beloved children: daughter Donna Fiske Keenan of Baton Rouge, LA, and her husband Chris and children Sarah, Heather and Andrew, Cindy Fiske Micucci of Valley Cottage, NY, and her husband Mark and children Christine, Katherine and Stephanie and son Stephen Fiske of Boise, ID and his wife Gerri and son Tyler. Don cherished his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his friend and former wife Joanne Holmes. He is also survived by his niece Gail Paradis and nephew Timothy Fiske. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Malcolm Fiske and sister-in-law Janie Fiske. Don had a gentle spirit and was loved by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 24, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Gorham Congregational Church, UCC, Gorham, NH. Interment will be in Mt. Hayes Cemetery in Gorham, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade Street, Gorham, NH on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
